MONDAY SPARKS

As part of our ongoing Energy Leadership partnership, our Clients
receive our weekly “BE: Monday Energy Spark” email to begin their week.
Here is a sampling for you to enjoy.

Hi All—
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things. Writer Robert Brault reminds us that being in the moment–to embrace and experience the present to its fullest—can make a positive impact on your day, your week…and even your life.

To a week of creating enjoyment through appreciation of ‘the little things’,

Hi All—
Perspective. It can truly color what you get out of a moment, an hour…a week. As author and world peace advocate Norman Cousins insightfully shares:

What was most significant about the lunar voyage was not that men set foot on the moon but that they set eye on the earth.

Try this out today: as you set foot in a moment, a discussion or a project, take that all-important pause to contemplate the multitude of directions to set your eye toward. The result may color your world in a whole new–and very anabolic–way.

To a kaleidoscopic week where new perspectives reveal vibrant insights,

Hi All—
A problem is a chance for you to do your best. -Duke Ellington

Over the next few days, when the word ‘problem’ pops up in your vocabulary, consider replacing it with the word ‘opportunity’. By seeing, stating and feeling opportunities—instead of challenges or doors thrown closed in front of you—potential and fulfillment can instantly be fueled.

To a week where opportunity knocks much more often,

Hi All—
All gardeners live in beautiful places because they make them so. -Joseph Joubert

These words are a great reminder that truly our choices create our days, our weeks, our world. Some things come to fruition immediately; others take time. And as gardeners love the process, it’s exciting to consider that there is great joy and energy to be found in the creation–as well as in the results.

To a week of creating what fuels you…or your “beauty”,

Hi All—
A favorite foundation principle that we find helpful to keep at the ready is quite short, but so powerful.

Energy attracts like energy.

Think about what this statement can mean to your next interaction, conversation or meeting. And remember, by selecting what energy level you “slip into your pocket” for that conversation or meeting, you are choosing to take the lead.

To an energetic week where the power truly can be right in your pocket,

Hi All—
By changing nothing, nothing changes. -Unknown

As you begin your week, consider how this can apply to something in your professional or personal life. Is there a situation causing you stress that perhaps you are approaching the same way over and over…and it continues to perpetuate?

Try changing this situation by stepping back to explore a different perspective—if even in how you think about it. You will now be in the lead, making your first move towards change. And that will feel a whole lot better than ‘changing nothing’.

To a week of regaining your lead by taking action,

Hi All—
Either you run the day or the day runs you. -Jim Rohn

On the heels of the New York City Marathon, we found this quote to be quite poignant.

In your work life and personal life, have you felt in the lead lately? When you choose to run your day, engagement will follow, time will pass quickly and production, motivation and fulfillment will abound. The finish line will come more easily–and often, reaching that destination will bring more than you had anticipated.

This week, consider putting on your “running” shoes…and see where they take you.

To a running start,
Cheryl & Ellen

Hi All—
You can’t stay in your corner of the Forest waiting for others to come to you. You have to go to them sometimes. -A.A. Milne’s Winnie-the-Pooh

Interesting that Disney’s beloved bear, Winnie the Pooh, has been practicing Energy Leadership all these years.

Often, opportunities to lead are simpler to find than we imagine. As you start the week anew, see what ideas come to light for you.

To a week that reaches far beyond your corner,
Ellen & Cheryl
